CIPER: a great alternative medium

Hello everyone!
Today I will tell you about one of my favorite journalistic websites, this is CIPER (ciperchile.cl).

The Center for Investigative Journalism was born in 2007 in response to the need to use the internet for the dissemination of news that is not always thoroughly investigated by traditional media. That is why CIPER is one of the best alternatives medium in Chile.

The journalist Mónica González is the director of CIPER

As for its editorial line, CIPER is a means that publishes without limitations, which is why it has uncovered several controversial cases as an adulteration in Carabineros in 2011, which ended with the resignation of its then General Director , The irregularities of Sergio Jadue in the ANFP or the alliance with Wikileaks in the uncovering of diplomatic cables. The above makes it possible to deduce that CIPER is a medium that usually sets standards.
I visit Ciper every week, especially when he sets the tone for the media through his highlights.

As for its financing, CIPER has received contributions from COPESA, a media company of La Tercera, which does not seem affected by the content of its publications.

Rhythm and protest

Hello everyone!

Today I will tell you about music. The truth is that I do not have a favorite musical genre, since I like many genres. Today I will tell you about one of my favorite exponents in rap.

Video of Escribo Rap con de Revolución (La Vega, Chile)

Rap is a musical genre that was born in the United States, and has been developed in many different countries in Latin America, and Chile is no exception.

Within the Chilean rap, the exponent that I like is Portavoz, because I feel that he has achieved a great way his musical career, even when the mainstream media do not take this kind of music into account. Besides I like it because it comes from the same commune as I, Conchalí.

With regard to his musical work Portavoz has released two albums: Formato de MC in 2005 and Escribo Rap con R de Revolución in 2012. The latter allowed him to acquire more knowledge on the part of the Chilean and Latin American public.

The letters of Portavoz are characterized by a high content of protest, in which the historical demands of the Chilean people are portrayed health or dignified education. El Otro Chile is one of the most emblematic.

Parallel to his work as a soloist, Portavoz has a group called Salvaje Decibel, in which social demands are also key in their lyrics.

Currently, Portavoz is making his first tour in Europe, and is also preparing what will be his third album

Picture that i like

Hi everyone!

Today I'm going to talk about a photo that I like.

In this photo they are appreciated eight of the members of the Chilean soccer team, who are encouraged to run after Alexis Sánchez converted the penalty with which Chile won the first Copa America in its history.

The photo becomes even more special when it is perceived it looks
that the memorial of the National Stadium made in dedication to the political prisoners that housed the sports coliseum during the first months of the military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. This memorial says: “a town without memory is a town without future”.

The photo was taken by Rodrigo Sáenz, a graphic reporter for Agencia Uno, who was in charge of capturing that magical moment of the cold night of July 4, 2015.

This photo I like because I consider myself an passionate of soccer, and I feel that achieves capture in a great way the emotion that many passionate soccer fans feel when seeing the first soccer crown obtained by Chile. On the other hand, I believe that the photo makes a reflection to the one who sees it on the disparate moments that have been lived in the National Stadium, in which on the one hand has been celebrated the achievement of a sporting achievement, and on the other they have been lived atrocious moments of political violence.
